Convert an Anki deck into a Quizlet set

Drop an .apkg file: the tool reads every note, strips the formatting and gives you the text in Quizlet’s import format. All that’s left is to paste it.

How it works

  1. Export from Anki

In Anki, open File then Export and pick the Anki Deck Package (.apkg) format. Without media, the file is much smaller.

  2. Drop the file here

Each note becomes a term and a definition. Cloze deletions become questions, with the full sentence as the definition.

  3. Import into Quizlet

Copy the text. On quizlet.com, select “Create” then “Flashcard set”, click “Import”, paste the text and confirm.

Frequently asked questions

Are images and audio kept?

No. Quizlet imports text only: images and sounds are removed during the conversion.

What happens to cloze deletions?

Quizlet has no cloze cards. The gap becomes “[…]” (or its hint) in the term, and the full sentence goes into the definition.

My notes have more than two fields.

The tool uses the first two non-empty fields of each note as the term and the definition.

The tool can’t read my deck.

Export it again from Anki with the option to support older Anki versions checked, then try again. Files over 50 MB are rejected: export the deck without media.

Is my deck stored?

No. The file is read on our server during the conversion, then deleted: neither the deck nor the cards are kept.

What if your cards made themselves?

Drop a lecture as a PDF, Word file or photo: Buvard turns it into a complete Anki deck in thirty seconds.
